After suffering a terrible toothache, I found myself expressing my tooth pain! This is acrylic on canvas, finished work to come!
As I find more time to create, I am getting back into oil painting. This is a piece I started a few years ago, and finally got back to working on, as I found it in a bin of unfinished works in my studio. It is about 20" x 20", canvas. While I am forming my imagery in sketching, I also enjoy the spontaneity of what happens on the canvas itself and then work on images from there as well. I printed a copy of this out and worked on it with colored pencil so I could see where I want it to go without overdoing the painting too much. (July, 2020)
My Dad sent me a picture of this Caribbean waterscape. Beautiful!! I am getting into drawing again and wanted to sketch this out to make into a watercolor. I really felt rusty doing the drawing! But, I persisted. It was fun to get back to my roots. While I love contemporary art, my abstract paintings all come from a source of learning the basic skills to draw! During the time staying at home due to COVID- 19, I think we all are getting back to basics!
Finished Oil Painting, Named it "The Forming of my Principalities" It is exhibited in the 4th Virtual Show in my art guild on their website: www.lemontartistsguild.org
Finished Watercolor for Dad, has some colored pencil in it too.
